We had shopped around for a while, talking with other contractors and design services before landing on Blackdog for their full service capability under one roof for our garage and primary bedroom suite addition. We have a 100 year old house and it was of the utmost importance that not only do we have a functional living space that meets our needs but the design was integrated into the vintage New England craftsman style. Working with our lead designer was a truly pleasurable experience. Our requirements were not only met but exceeded expectations. Doing any kind of home improvement in the post-Covid era is going to have some kind of “supply chain” issue, but Blackdog handled all of the setbacks with professionalism and really had our needs first in mind. Everyone is wowed by our new space and we know we made the right choice in selecting Blackdog for our partner. No one else could’ve pulled this off at this quality.
Blackdog was the most professional business that I had worked with. Everything from the beginning of the project to the end was handled exceptionally and I felt confident that the project was going to get done correctly as they continually strived for my satisfaction. Scheduling and budgeting a large interior remodel is challenging and with the experience of the team at Blackdog they were able to maintain expectations as well as results. I will admit the cost was higher than I expected but there quote was very accurate and they were able to accomplish everything while staying within their established budget. Blackdog's approach of initial design to construction was seamless and world class as all the details were outlined in their project proposal. All the team members that I consulted with were very friendly and easy to talk to. Never once was I pressured into anything that I wasn't comfortable with. Based on my experience with Blackdog I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for home design remodel/construction.
A year ago I had them convert my attic into an office. It was a walk up attic, but uninsulated and other than having plywood to walk on was totally unfinished. Blackdog builders converted it into a really nice and comfortable office with a built in desk, shelving, and lots of under the eave storage space.They were great to work with and I would totally go with them again on future jobs.

Blackdog is a top notch outfit... we had a major renovation at our home. We had never done any work of this magnitude, but from design to renovation never felt uncomfortable or out of touch with where things stood. We felt like we had full control through the whole process and when things did came up (as they do in any renovation), we were given our options in a transparent way. I would definitely recommend them.

Used blackdog for an extensive attic finish and ~3k sf of flooring changes and am very happy with the professionalism of the service!Will use them again for future changes

We called Blackdog Builders to get a quote on remodeling our house. We discussed a number of possible projects including finishing our basement and adding additional space over our garage. Rachel discussed the process with us over the phone and set up a time to come walk through our house with us. She arrived right on time and sat down with us to walk us through Blackdog's process. We then walked around the house, pointing out where we thought we may be able to add space. Rachel worked with us to understand what we were looking for and added suggestions. She was also able to give us ballpark rule-of-thumb estimates for the projects we were considering! As we walked, we pointed out smaller projects that we were thinking about doing as well.Although we decided to hold off moving forward on our remodel for now, Rachel was kind enough to put us in touch with a coworker regarding the smaller projects we had discussed. He came to the house and gave me some advice on how to complete the work myself, all at no cost! I was blown away - this is NOT the experience I've had with other contractors. Once we're ready to move forward with our remodel, I'm going straight back to Blackdog Builders!

Great experience with BlackDog from design to implementation.Very professional. All work completed and very satisfied. We had a Master bedroom and bath remodel, Kids bath remodel and kitchen cabinet doors and shelving done.
